Dr. Tarana Husain Khan is an Ph.D. in Commerce and MBA specialising in Marketing and Personnel Management. She has also worked as Research Fellow with University of Sheffield (UK). Her Professional experience is varied and interdisciplinary. Her skills include archival research, recording oral history and field surveys. She has deep knowledge of using statistical techniques, data analysis, and report writing. She has also managed and lead field survey teams. However her forte is freelance writing on food, cuisine, researching food history, heritage, forgotten heritage recipes, food culture and food items with special emphasis on Rampur Cuisine.

Her interdisciplinary approach and skill set have credited her with wide array of research papers and publications which have been published in India and abroad. Her writings / papers / books have been published by Pan Macmillan India, Beacon Books, UK. Her book titled The Begum and the Dastan’ has been published by Westland (2021) and won the Kalinga Lit Fest Book of the year Award in fiction category. Her book ‘Degh to Dastarkhwan’ was published by Penguin India in 2022. She also organized and curated the day long culinary event at ‘Jashn e Rampur’ at India International Centre, New Delhi in Oct 2022 and also presented ‘Taste in Time’ with Prof Hurley at Sheffield in Nov’ 2022.
